The plans and the BQ are out for the rescue centre to be build. The organization is looking for donors and well wishers to come in aid of the rescue center. The centre will be of great help and benefit to many destitute, orphans, early and forced marriages girls e.t.c. This will also reduce the rate of money being used by the organization (OMDC) to pay for this children in other institutions. You can donate either in cash or inform of materials.
18.8.2011 The land is now fenced using the poles and barberd wire as sigh of marking where the land reaches. 12.7km is fenced and added some pricky acacia to keep away the animals and people from trespassing in the land. Now its clear by just with the look of eyes how big the land is from one corner to the other.The president also bought furnitures for the staff houses that were bought by OMDC.
Today the foundation ONE MORE DAY FOR CHILDREN has found 105 sponsors parents. From my visit in January 2011 I brought back many additional sad stories.
OMDC Rescue Centre Due to unvoidable circumstances, we had to renovate the house that we bought on our land to be a small rescue centre to accommodate the 15 rescued maasai girls. the renovation have took place 90% and now we are just waiting for the inspection. more structures were added that's includes the kitchen, the toilets, bathrooms and others. ![]()
Christmas Party 2011. The party was held as scheduled, that is on 17th December2011 and 18th December 2011.The children had lots of fun and entertainment both inside and outside. They later ate and drunk refreshments to their satisfaction. This time we were lucky to have one of the parents from Czech Republic with us and she saw how the children were happy, she also had fun too. later in the evening, sadly the party had to come to an end.
18.10.2011, Child rights groups save three from marriage The girls walked for over 50km from their home on learning that certain village men planned to marry them. The men had even paid preliminary dowry prize. Thanks to Ms. hellen Gathogo One More Day for Children (OMDC) and Ms. Jane Meriwas Samburu Women for Education and Environment Development Organisation (Sweedo).

The love for children August 2011, as the Organization does its monitoring in the slums, it made sure that no child was left unhappy in the slums. The president gave the children foods, clothes, sweets and toys which the children loved and they smilled all the way home. The organization made sure its motto was explained clearly " in the best interest of the child".
Christmas party 2010 - 360 picture is ready in site As the organization celebrated its two years, it made it possible for the less fortunate children to have a smile on their faces and to celebrate what many could or have never celebrated. This was one of the best moment for the children to celebrate. 29.1. 2010 CONFIRMED, OMDC is going to build a rescue centre In the afternoon, after phone conversation, we visited local architect. Why? I told him OMDC want to build new children's home in Doldol and I will have it in no other way. Architect listened to my idea about home for 60 children including school, church, kitchen, community rooms, bedrooms, washroom and fence... I proposed U-shaped floorplan.

One More Day for Children (OMDC) was founded in 2009 by a philanthropic tourist from Czech republic , ( whose hobby has since changed) together with a group of well known experts in children rights, social development, business people medical and legal field.
It is a child rights programming agency whose aim is to assist, enable and empower children, and communities to improve their life circumstances. OMDC was founded on the principles of (United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child)UNCRC and uses United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and African Charter on Rights and Welfare of Children (ACRWC) as a tool for realizing positive change for Kenyan children. It is a community based organization which implements and builds capacity aimed at securing, protecting and promoting children’s rights in Kenya. The organization deals with relief, child sponsorship, Probonal services, research& training and advocacy on:
• children’s rights,
• HIV/AIDS and children,
• home based care,
• emergency rescue and rehabilitation of children and families,
• peer to peer education,
• alternative family care services
• OVC care & programming,

OBJECTIVES
1. To provide psychosocial support to the orphaned and other vulnerable children (OVC) living within Laikipia larger district and around the Mt. Kenya region.
2. Set up proper feeding and counseling programs to ensure the affected children get balanced diet and free health care services and extend care services to guardians and extended families.
3. To rescue and provide free legal, Medicare and counseling services to the sick, abused and neglected children.
4. Provide alternative family care services (Rescue Centre) for the orphaned and abused children and a Peace house to the girls rescued from early/forced marriages ( Child brides)
5. Provide training and consultancy services to the like-minded partner organizations and government departments on Children`s Act, Family law and international instruments on child protection.
ACTIVITIES
OMDC has been since its registration carrying the following activities in the Laikipia larger district(Laikipia County) and part of Mt. Kenya region:
1. Individual child sponsorship. The organization`s biggest activity. Today the organization has a total of 80 children on sponsorship for their educational needs, medical and dental care services, Nutrition, accommodation and clothing.
2. Emergency rescue and rehabilitation of young girls from Maasai and Samburu communities’ victim of FGM (female genital mutilation) and early/ forced marriages(child brides)
3. Advocacy on Children`s rights and protection through research and trainings throughout the country. The organization offer consultancy services on:
• Child rights and protection
• Family law
• HIV/AIDS
• Advocacy
• Youth and reproductive health
• Gender
• Women and demosracy
4. Holding free medical camps for the rescued children
5. Providing free legal, Medicare, accommodation and counseling services to the abused.
6. Formation of child protection clubs in schools and community based child protection committees within the community.
7. Emergency rescue and reintegration of children affected by natural or manmade catastrophes or conflicts eg drought, cattle rustling and civil /political violence.
